Where is The Michigan Hoof Beat?
Publication has halted, and not at X. Why? Well, I launched earlier than I'd intended because my passion for the news of the day outpaced my actual capacity.
I've been dealing with some health issues while also raising a child who isn't in school full-time. When I launched, I had a break in my physical therapy schedule and I'd hoped that the change in my routine would continue after PT resumed. Alas. My PT coincides with the only hours a week my youngest child is in school, and that means I do not reliably have one single hour a week during which my mind is entirely my own.
So.
It's possible I will be publishing some evergreen features in the months to come, but time-sensitive newsy items will have to wait until September, when my youngest child starts somewhat full-time preschool.
I do have big plans for The Michigan Hoof Beat 2.0, and some of the content will be looking for sponsors.
However, editorial independence is important to me. If you're a freelance advertising rep and want to explore a partnership, please get in touch.
Content categories that might work for sponsorship include:
Real estate: I want to cover equine properties that are for sale and trends in horse property sales, of course—but I also want to cover interesting or innovative approaches to equine land use and horse farm management.
Product reviews: How to use horse-related products, and honest real-world tests without influencer spin.
Stalled Progress: Community brainstorming sessions around horse-related problems, both specific to individuals or broader issues (video chat or in-person panel discussions).
Take a Lesson With . . . Reviews and first-person descriptions of taking lessons with horse pros around the state (or similar services).
Horse of the Year
Announcing, speaking: I could come announce at your show or speak at your event.
Horse Trivia: I can host a horse-related trivia night at your horse-related show or event.
